Ben McCullough is a lifelong Ohioan, and has a family tradition in Ohio going back hundreds of years. He grew up in Northwest Ohio, and attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, graduating in 2009 with his degree in Political Science. He then earned a Master's in International Comparative Politics from Wright State in 2014.
Ben is a strong believer in service, and after graduating at Wittenberg, he joined the United States Army, where he has a current rank of SSG/Staff Sergeant. Though he could have entered as an officer, he chose to begin at Basic Training, so that he would have a comprehensive knowledge of the military, and so he wouldn't jump ahead of those who put in the hard work. Ben has 6 years of experience with the Ohio Army National Guard, including the 323rd Military Police Company (Toledo, Ohio), HHC 1-148th Infantry Company (Walbridge, Ohio), Charlie Co 1-148th Infantry (Tiffin, Ohio), BTRY A 1-134th FA RGT (Delaware, Ohio), BTRY B 1-134th FA RGT (Piqua, Ohio) and 2 ½ years with Army Reserve out of WPAFB.
In 2015, Ben married the love of his life, Kristi, and they've lived in their current home in Washington Twp/Miamisburg since that time with their dog, Charlie. Outside of the military and his contract work through it, Ben is currently a member of the Dayton Chapter of Team RWB, and is a volunteer with the Dayton Humane Society, Miami Valley Military History Museum, and the Dayton History Society. He is driven to make a positive difference in his community.
